Signs a PDF: an offer letter, a rental agreement, a bank or school form. Add your signature, your initials, today's date, a tick or a line of text, fill in the form fields the PDF has, and download the signed PDF. There is no limit on how many PDFs you sign, and no account. The PDF is signed on your device and never uploaded.

How to use it

Open a PDF and choose a tool above the pages, then tap the page where it goes, or use Place on the page. Drag anything placed to move it, and its corners to resize it.

  • Signature and Initials: the first time, draw them with a finger, pen or mouse, type them in a handwriting style, or upload a photo of them on white paper, which is cleaned so only the ink shows. Ink is black, blue or any colour you pick; a photo keeps its own ink unless you pick one. With Remember on this device, they are kept in this browser for next time, never sent anywhere.
  • Copy to pages, beside a selected signature or initials, puts a copy at the same place on every page, or the pages you type (such as 2-5), as initialling each page of an agreement asks. Each copy can then be moved on its own.
  • Date places today's date, written as 28 February 2026, 28/02/2026 or 2026-02-28. Text and Tick fill in a printed form that has no fields.

A PDF with form fields shows them on the page to fill in. A signature field is highlighted; tap it and your signature is placed inside it. Flatten, on by default, makes the form fields part of the page when saved, with your signature in place of the empty signature field, so the answers can no longer be changed. Turn it off to keep the fields fillable; the signature field then stays an unsigned field under your signature.

Save PDF makes the signed copy, named after the original, as in agreement-signed.pdf. A PDF that needs a password asks for it, and the signed copy has none; continue with Protect PDF to add one. To change more than signing allows, continue with the PDF Editor.

Electronic signatures and the law

What this tool adds is an electronic signature: an image of your signature on the page, as a signed scan is. A digital signature is made with a certificate and a key, which lock the PDF and prove who signed. This tool does not make one.

  • India, Information Technology Act, 2000. Section 2(1)(ta): an electronic signature is authentication of an electronic record by a technique specified in the Second Schedule, and includes a digital signature. Section 3(2): a digital signature is made with an asymmetric crypto system and hash function. Section 3A and the Second Schedule: the techniques include e-authentication through Aadhaar or other e-KYC services, known as Aadhaar eSign. Section 5: where a law requires a signature, an electronic signature affixed as the Central Government prescribes satisfies it. An image of a signature is none of these techniques.
  • Where the Act does not apply (Section 1(4) and the First Schedule): trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and negotiable instruments other than cheques. Demand promissory notes and bills of exchange issued in favour of, or endorsed by, an entity regulated by the RBI, National Housing Bank, SEBI, IRDAI or PFRDA are within the Act, as are powers of attorney that let such an entity act for the person who gives them.
  • United States, 15 U.S.C. 7001(a) (the ESIGN Act): a signature or contract in a transaction in interstate or foreign commerce may not be denied legal effect solely because it is electronic.
  • European Union, Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 (eIDAS), Article 25: an electronic signature may not be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence solely because it is electronic or is not a qualified electronic signature; only a qualified electronic signature, made with a qualified certificate, has the effect of a handwritten one.

Whether an image of a signature is enough for a document is up to whoever asked for it. Many forms, letters and agreements take one; government filings, property and court documents often ask for a digital signature or Aadhaar eSign.

Frequently asked questions

In the US and the EU, a signature may not be refused only for being electronic, and Indian law recognises electronic signatures made by the techniques it lists. An image of a signature is the simplest kind: whether it is enough depends on the document and on whoever asked for it. Where a digital signature or Aadhaar eSign is required, this is not a substitute.
Yes, for a digital signature: it covers the PDF's exact bytes, and the tool says so when you open a signed PDF. Sign a copy that has not been digitally signed yet, or ask the sender how they want it signed.
Place your initials on one page, select them, and use Copy to pages with the field left empty for every page, or a range such as 1-9 to leave out a signature page.
No. Your browser reads, signs and saves the files on your device; they are not sent to CornerTools or anyone else, and neither is a password you type. To check, open the browser's developer tools at the Network tab and add a PDF: no request carries it. The PDF engine downloads from this site the first time you use it: a download to your browser, not an upload of your file.
