Text Repeater

Repeat any text or emoji as many times as you like, on new lines or with your own separator.

Copies: 0Characters: 0Words: 0
Separator

Repeats a word, a line, a paragraph or an emoji as many times as you ask, with a separator between the copies, for chat messages, test data, filler text or practice lines. The text is repeated exactly as typed, so emoji and the joined emoji of families and flags stay whole.

How to use it

  • Repeat — how many copies, a whole number from 1 to 100,000 (1 lakh); 10 by default. The buttons under it fill in common counts.
  • Separator — what goes between copies: a new line (the default), a space, nothing, or Custom, which takes any text and reads \n as a line break, \t as a tab and \\ as a backslash, so \n\n leaves a blank line between copies. Nothing is added after the last copy. A line break at the end of your text is kept, so with New line it gives a blank line between copies.
  • Number each copy — puts 1. , 2. and so on before each copy, counting from the start number (1 by default).

Copies, characters and words are counted on the whole result, so with no separator, words at the ends of neighbouring copies run together as one. Characters count what you see, so an emoji is one.

The size of the result is worked out before it is built. Past 1,000,000 characters the result box shows the first 10,000, since a text box that large slows the page; Copy and Download still hold the whole result. Past 10,000,000 characters the tool asks for a lower count or shorter text instead. Downloads are plain text files with \n line endings.

Frequently asked questions

A chat app lays out every character of a message before it shows it, on the sender's phone and on every phone that receives it. A message of hundreds of thousands of characters takes that much longer, so the chat can freeze for a moment or scroll slowly while it is on screen.
