Scoreboard

Keep score for any game — a full-screen two-team board or round-by-round scores for many players.

Period 1

Away

Tap a score to add 1. Team names, colours, the clock and more are under Options. In full screen the screen stays on where the browser allows it. The board is kept on this device.

Two scoreboards in one: a big two-team board for a match on a screen everyone can see, and a score sheet for card and board games played over rounds, which adds up the totals and names the winner by the rule you choose, including pool rummy, where players drop out at a target. Every change can be undone, and a reload carries on where you left off.

How to use it

Two-team board: tap a team’s score to add 1. Under it, −1 takes a point off, and the extra buttons add more: 2, 3 to start with, or up to 4 of your own, such as 6, 7 for American football. Next period moves on and lists the points each team scored in it. Periods can be called periods, sets, halfs, quarters, innings, games and rounds; with Scores start from 0 each period on, as in volleyball or tennis sets, each team’s periods won are counted instead. Scores stay at 0 or above unless you turn that off.

The game clock counts up, or down from 1 to 180 minutes, and stops itself at 0:00. It keeps time while the tab is in the background or the page is reloaded. Full screen shows only the board, with bigger numbers for a projector or a TV, and asks the browser to keep the screen on; browsers without the Screen Wake Lock API let it dim as usual. Team names, eight colours, the extra buttons, the periods and the clock are set under Options.

Round by round: name 2 to 12 players in the column headings, type each round’s scores in the last row and press Add round or Enter. Scores can be negative or have decimals, and a blank counts as 0. The pencil on a round edits or deletes it, and totals, players out and the winner are all worked out again. A player added mid-game starts with 0 for the rounds before.

  • Highest score wins — the game ends in the round anyone reaches the target, and the highest total wins, even if several players pass the target in that round. Equal totals tie.
  • Lowest score wins — for Hearts, golf or points rummy: the game ends in the round anyone reaches the target, and the lowest total among all players wins.
  • Out at the target — for pool rummy (usually 101 or 201): a player who reaches the target is out and scores nothing more, and the last player in wins. If everyone left goes out in the same round, the lowest total among them wins. With Players out can rejoin on, a player out can come back at the highest score still in play plus 1, as pool rummy tables allow.
  • With no target, the game runs until End game, which ranks the totals: highest first for highest wins, lowest first for the other two.

New game clears the scores and keeps the teams or players. Undo and Redo step through the scores, rounds and players changed in this visit. The board, the sheet and the settings are kept in this browser, on this device.

Examples

Pool rummy to 101, with a rejoin

Round 1
Asha 45, Ben 20, Chen 30
Round 2
Asha 60, Ben 25, Chen 40
Round 3
Asha 10, Ben 80, Chen 0
Round 4
Asha 30, Ben out, Chen 20

After round 2 Asha has 105 and is out. She rejoins at 71, one more than Chen’s 70, the highest score still in. In round 3 Ben reaches 125 and is out. In round 4 Asha reaches 111 and goes out again, which leaves Chen the winner with 90.
