Crops a photo or image by dragging a box over it or typing its position and size in pixels, to a free shape or a fixed aspect ratio. It also turns the image in quarter turns, mirrors it, straightens a tilted horizon by up to 45°, and can save the result at an exact size such as 1080 × 1080 px. The image is cropped in your browser and never uploaded.
How to use it
Drag the box to move it and its handles to resize it. With the box selected, the arrow keys move it by one pixel, or ten with Shift. Left and Top place its top-left corner, in pixels from the top-left corner of the image as turned, and Crop width and Crop height set its size. The box stays on the image.
Aspect ratio is Free by default, or one of 1:1, 4:5, 3:2, 4:3, 16:9, 9:16, or Custom with any ratio whose sides are between 0.01 and 100. With a ratio set, the corners resize along the diagonal and typing one side sets the other.
The buttons under the image rotate it left or right by 90° and flip it horizontally or vertically; the box turns and mirrors with it. Straighten rotates it by up to 45° either way, in half degrees. A straightened image leaves empty corners, and Corners, beside it, decides what happens to them: Crop out shrinks the box until it holds only the image, and lets it grow back when the angle is undone; Fill lets the box reach the corners and paints them in the Background colour.
Set output size saves the result at exactly that width and height: the box takes that shape, and the part inside it is scaled to the size. Enlarging adds pixels, not detail, and the result says when it happened.
Output format keeps the image's format, or saves it as JPG, PNG or WebP; GIF and BMP are saved as PNG, and HEIC as JPG. Match original JPG quality (on by default) saves a JPG at the quality it was saved at before, read from the file, so the crop stays about as compact; the result notes the quality used. Other images use Quality (default 90), for JPG and WebP. The saved file has no camera metadata, the location included. Options are remembered on this device; Reset options restores the defaults, and Reset crop undoes the crop, turns and flips.
